More Background to my political views.
As an upstate New Yorker, I am terrified of politicians. New York is run by Democrats. New York allows full term abortions right up until birth. New York removed abortion from its Penal Code. No one can be held criminally liable for aborting a fetus, even after the 24th week of pregnancy. Penal Code Sections 125.40, 125.45, 125.50, 125.55 and 125.60 were all repealed. Gun Control - NY has one of the toughest set of gun laws for legal gun owners in the us and they are making them more stringent this year. So you cannot protect yourself from the criminals running rampant around the state. Illegals can get drivers licenses without testing, which means they can probably vote. Passengers in the back seat of a car must wear a seat belt. Drivers may soon be required to wear a helmet. Bail reform- On April 1, 2019, New York State passed sweeping criminal justice reform legislation that eliminates money bail and pretrial detention for nearly all misdemeanor and nonviolent felony defendants. If you commit these crimes in NY they cannot hold you. Not only that but by law the defendant is allowed to have access to their accusers address. They cannot be held for repeatedly missing court dates. They cannot be held for repeatedly committing these crimes. Here Are All The Crimes That Now Fall Under The Bail Reform Law:

First and foremost I am a Child of God. I am a Christian. I am a wife, a mother and a lover of animals.
I honestly do not care who you vote for, what religion, where you come from, what gender you are, or anything else, you may be. I am not attacking your views. If I post something it is because you are important to me and I want to share information with you. What you do with that information is up to you. I am not trying to preach but rather to explain who I am. Love, Do Not Judge, Forgive I try to live my life by these three principles. I do not always succeed but I find that when I adhere to them, I am content. LOVE Matthew 22:36-40 New International Version (NIV) 36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” 37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[a] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[b] 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” JUDGE NOT Luke 6:37 Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Romans 2:1 You therefore have no excuse, you who pass judgment on another. For on whatever grounds you judge the other, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things. Romans 14:10 Why, then, do you judge your brother? Or why do you belittle your brother? For we will all stand before God's judgment seat. Romans 14:13 Therefore let us stop judging one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in your brother's way. 1 Corinthians 4:5 Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait until the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of men's hearts. At that time each will receive his praise from God. Forgive Matthew Chapter 6 14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: 15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. Matthew Chapter 18 21 Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? 22 Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven. Ephesians 4:32 - And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you. I have shared political posts which I considered interesting or important. Only to be attacked. I have learned to fact check. My husband asks why I bother or why I care. I have tried to avoid posting anything positive about our President. But that does not feel right. I try hard not to attack other peoples views. I ask for facts to support their views. I want to learn. I want to understand. Most often though I find pure hatred not facts is the only basis they want to offer. My politics I initially registered as an independent, and later changed to a Democrat when I worked at the voting booths. I never considered myself political. However, after watching the Black Lives Matter riots starting in 2013 and being told that it was politically incorrect to display nativities or say Merry Christmas. President Obama saying we were no longer a Judaeo-Christian based country and that he was ashamed of America. All of these things horrified and alarmed me. President Trump is not perfect but it is not for me to judge him. He has offered a temporary respite from the race riots and religious suppression under President Obama. Many people talk about the hate and divisiveness under Trump. The race riots are gone. The divisiveness is now Democrats versus Republicans. Obviously Trump talks trash and does not help but the out right hate toward the man from so many people is what is frightening. This makes it so hard to tell what is truth and what is not. The man I considered my mentor used to say "If you have an issue with everyone who is the common denominator?" I see hate going on for the past 10 years, Trump has only been involved for the past 4 years. In 2016 I would have voted for Bernie. I love the idea of free Healthcare for everyone. Today, I am still undecided but leaning toward Trump. I always liked Biden. I am terrified he will revert back to religious suppression and stirring up race separation. Americans are basically not racist. Obama became President. Buttiegieg preformed very well in the primaries. I would believe that like myself we want the right person to be President, Color, gender, religion does not play a part unless, they attack us on those issues. I think most people are looking for someone to Support our Constitution and our right to worship as we choose. I am a huge proponent of Term Limits for Congress. Take out the trash. However, in this day and age it is important that we do our own research and not allow the press or social media to steer our thinking. I am very much Pro Life, as such I share anti abortion posts. I do not do so as a judgement against any one but rather as a means to introduce choices before it comes down to anything but a medically necessary abortion. In this day and age with so many other choices available, it is a hard birth control option for me. Keep in mind I live in New York state were abortions are legal up until birth. |
